I'm Sophie, Belgian mother of a trilingual child (French, Japanese, English).

4 years ago, I moved from Brussels to Twickenham with my 3-month-old baby and my Japanese husband.

I started to study music when I was 8 years old: piano, singing, percussions, chamber music... I sang in several choirs, including the Choeur de la Communauté Française de Belgique, with concerts in Belgium, France, Luxemburg, and the Netherlands, under the direction of masters such as Ivan Fisher and Louis Langrée.

With my sister, I created a program of classical chansons françaises duo (piano and vocals), and we performed at more than 200 concerts and cabarets in Belgium.

I also trained for a short time in drama, including workshops in English in Glasgow, and I have studied Bharata Natyam (a classical South Indian dance) in Chennaï (India), Bruges (Belgium) and Arles and Paris (France).

I have always been interested by the relationship between the different arts: how music, drama and dance are linked and nourish one another. My artistic journey allowed me to meet some amazing teachers, and having seen how the Arts can enrich people's lives, I wanted to give back all that I had received. I started to teach piano, and I soon had many pupils who loved my openness and adaptable approach. Each person is different, and each pupil deserves a personal way of teaching, according to their strengths or motivations.

Now that my daughter is 4 years old, I would like to put together my musical and language experiences, and I have therefore created this bilingual singing class.

In addition to the above, I have a diploma in journalism and communication, and I have taken French elocution lessons.

I have certificates for 12 hours level 3 Paediatric First Aid class, Level 3 Emergency First Aid at work, and Enhanced DBS check.
